CvitTruck. 2013 Ford FX4 Ecoboost NEED HELP!! Hoping this forum is as good as I have heard as I really could use some advice right now. We have a 2013 F150 FX4 crew cab with approximately 144,750 miles. Bought it new 11/2013 and have had no serious issues with it. Keep it routinely maintained and haven't even towed with it since 2020.The 3.5 -liter EcoBoost V6 enjoys a more significant boost of 25 hp and 30 lb-ft (41 Nm) over its predecessor to pump out 400 hp at 6,000 rpm and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) at 3,100 rpm. The engine and transmission are not the issue limiting the trucks performance. It is the trucks design limitations that limit this engine and transmission.I have a trip odometer that I have never re-set for 23,000 miles so I have a huge variation of driving including towing horse (horses) with the 3.5 max tow and it says 17.7 mpg. But 3.5 torque is real, it's just no contest in actual driving, they can fake engine noise and it sounds good enough. Can't fake performance. On that front the only thing I would worry about with the 5.0 in the Tremor would be the same thing as above, down low torque and larger/heavier tires.

The 2017 3.5 NA has 282 hp and 253 ft-lb torque. My 1993 F150 5.0 V8 had 185 hp and 270 ft-lb of torque. For a non-towing light payload work truck, a single-cab 8ft bed 2wd with the 3.5 na engine would be a great choice.
