THE CONSERVATORY OF FLOWERS is the 137-year-old nationally landmarked gem of San Francisco. It is an oasis for thousands of visitors each year — a place where our visitors are immersed by flowers and foliage from across the world and we provide 11,807 square feet of secluded warmth and the freshest oxygen year round.

Sobralia macrantha, commonly known as the Large-Flowered Sobralia, is a species of orchid found from north-central and southern Mexico to Central America.Come see “Chanel the Titan” (yes, the Conservatory has named the flowers!). The flowers usually take 7-10 years to bloom for the first time, and then can re-bloom every 3-5 years thereafter. The last blooms of a corpse flower at the Conservatory in 2017 and then again in 2020. The smelly bloom only lasts a day or two.
