That's no Schwinn number I've ever seen, all the serial numbers prior to 82 had the 2 letter codes with the first letter being the month and the second being the year. I know they did have several other variations in 82 though.

Anglefire indicates up to 1958 the suffix number digits were up to 5 with a letter prefix.
