Techs said Chrysler promised to release a software update at some point in the future to rectify this issue.

I've had the car less than a week and have had two instances of the tailgate not automatically closing using any of the options, button inside the rear, the key fob and the button in the front. Didn't matter if the car was on or off. After I closed it manually it worked fine again.

Push start button and it would begin to start but not turn over. Got it towed to the dealer. They said it was due to a low battery so they recharged the battery.There is no manual "brake" release, but there is a manual neutral release. Pulling this would prevent the transmission from shifting into Park.
